I currently work in Whittell Forest and Wildlife Area (WFWA) investigating inter-specific competition among granivores. My main interest involves how the small rodent community found in WFWA is able to coexist while sharing a limited food source (pine seeds). Specifically my focus involves examining how pilfering differences among rodent species could explain coexistence. Previously collected data has suggested pilfering differences among species but there has not been a community level comparison to date on the rodents found in WFWA. I started working in WFWA in 2012 and have just begun to collect data.
